About Shauna Gallagher
Shauna Gallagher is a Mental Health Nurse with a Masters in Mental Health Nursing. Recently in her career, Shauna has begun working as a group facilitator in the workplace, educating clients about Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Through this role, Shauna’s life long passion for helping others has been given a new direction, leading to her becoming an author.
Shauna became a Christian just after her 14th birthday and has been involved in the life of the church since then. Her many roles have included leading playgroups and youth groups, worship leading and co-ordinating women’s ministry teams. In 1987, Shauna married her high school sweetheart, John, who is a Pastor in the Baptist Church (Queensland, Australia). They have four adult children and are very excited to be beginning their journey as grandparents. Shauna loves being a mother and understands the all encompassing joys and heartaches that are a part of that journey.
At the age of 15, Shauna was deeply impacted by the effects of mental illness in her family and has since had a passion to make a difference in the lives of those who suffer directly or indirectly. Shauna’s writings are borne from this desire to help those families and feels passionate about achieving this through a Bible based approach. Shauna enjoys sewing and dancing, as well as connecting with people through her many roles as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague.
